They made setting up a lab environment incredibly hassle free but you will need to do some deeper reading before deploying to production. :D

Despite the ridiculous circumstance it’s fairly impressive that I went from cycling to head-butting the pavement and back onto my feet within 10 seconds.

Crash!
Bike Highlights 05-05-2011

A couple of minor oddities and a spectacularly embarrassing self-induced crash.

Despite my general dislike of people cycling on the pavement I decided to hop onto the kerb before dismounting so that I wasn’t in the way of any buses coming behind me - I won’t do that again!

Bike Highlights 18-04-2011 (by Ewan Logan)

(by Ewan...

Two wrongs don’t make a right turn easy. (by Ewan Logan)

My new helmet cam is already yielding some interesting results. Play the above video with sound to get the full story.

The nice Eddie Stobart truck had been maintaining a safe distance and speed behind me until he could overtake - possibly annoying the Ford driver behind him in the process.

As we approach the lights the Ford driver moves into the right turn only lane and stops up against the ASL and by doing so is technically breaking the law.

I assume the Ford driver is turning right (as he is in the right-turn-only lane) and I decide to move in front to him as he was blocking the bike box. I know how busy this junction is and want to ensure I am visible to other road users (including the Stobart truck) but I will admit this is maybe not the best course of action as I am now also breaking the law.

So both of us are not exactly in the right, yet as I move off the Ford driver sounds his horn and yells at me for being in the way of his illegal overtaking manoeuvre. I respond with that massively underused insult… “Pillock!”

I don’t think either of us come out of this particularly well.

A few highlights from a day at Alton Towers

A few highlights from a day at Alton Towers

Helmet Camera Test (by Ewan Logan)

I bought myself a new toy the other day - a DogCam video camera. Above is a short snippet of my journey home from work. The quality has been reduced greatly for this upload (it shoots 720p) and I’m still playing with the mounting options but expect more of the same in the near future. Although hopefully more interesting footage.

The only highlight in this clip is around 9 minutes where a fellow cyclist loses a pannier (karma for cycling on the pavement?).
